Biography:
JUDY ADAMS ,RN, BSN ,HCS-D, HCS-O is President and Owner of Adams Home Care Consulting, Inc. with more than 35 years of experience providing clinical and operational consultation and education services to home care, home health and hospice organizations throughout the United States. Throughout her career, Judy has held a wide variety of positions in home health agencies, including staff nurse, supervisor, director, and QI positions. In addition to positions with home health, home care and staffing agencies, she has worked with several national financial and advisory firms and individual agencies assisting small and large free-standing and health system programs with clinical, operational, regulatory and compliance issues affecting home health, hospice and home care services. She regularly works with national publication and education organizations as well as State Home and Hospice Care Associations in several states offering a multitude of multi-media educational products and classes.
Judy graduated from Norwalk Hospital School of Nursing in Connecticut and later went on to receive a BSN from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC. Throughout her years in nursing practice she has worked in a variety of facility and home care settings She has been certified in diagnosis coding since 2004 and OASIS since 2005.
She has been an active participant in the NC Association for Home and Hospice Care regulatory committee for more than 5 years and is a frequent contributor to numerous national home care publications and resource materials. She is a strong advocate for home based services and believes we are all always learning from one another. In addition to her professional career, Judy spent more than 10 years as the major caregiver for various members of her family and she believes that experience has added the most to her knowledge, experience, and appreciation for a multidisciplinary and holistic view of home care services.
